All Hands on Deck
GET IT DONE ON 9/1
We are asking you to join the campaign to pass a Chicago City Council Resolution to Normalize Relations with Cuba. The brutal embargo against Cuba not only causes hardship for the people of Cuba, but also denies Chicagoans and all US people the tremendous advances of the Cuban medical system. Sixty years of the embargo and blockade have caused immeasurable suffering and it is time to change. Global collaboration in the face of the pandemic is the only path to saving lives in Chicago and globally.
Now is the time to pass this Resolution. Our campaign started last year and has garnered wide support in the city and a pledge of support from eleven Aldermen. We will be sending Aldermen a letter on August 25 (see attached) asking them to support a City Council Resolution to Normalize Relations with Cuba. We are planning a city-wide call in to Aldermen asking them to support the resolution on September 1, 2020. We are asking your help to move this to the next level.
What you can do RIGHT NOW:
1. Get your organization to endorse the Resolution
2. Mark your Calendar now for a “9/1 GET IT DONE! “ MASS ACTION (September 1, 2020) City-wide Call in to Aldermen asking them to support the Resolution
3. Prepare your organization to send out mass blasts to email lists and social media asking members to Get It Done on 9/1 and call their Alderman (link to list of Aldermen numbers)
4. Invite your colleagues, friends and neighbors to join the campaign to Get it Done on 9/1.
