April 21 to May 5, 2019
As every year, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, together with its Travel Agency Amistur Cuba S.A. invites you to participate on the 14th edition of the May Day International Volunteer Work Brigade in Solidarity with Cuba.
In addition to celebrating together with the Cuban people the conquests of its workers, it will be time to follow up the work of the Central Organization of Cuban Trade Unions (CTC) that this year, while marking the 80th anniversary of its foundation will held its twenty-first Congress.
The program as a whole will be a tribute to the heroes and martyrs of our libertarian and emancipatory process on the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
It will take place in the provinces of La Habana, Artemisa, Villa Clara and Sancti Spíritus, where participants will complete days of voluntary work, visit places of historical, economic, cultural and social interest; will receive lectures on up-to-date national topics and exchange with representatives from different organizations of the Cuban society.
Out of 14 nights stay, 10 nights you will be accommodated at the “Julio Antonio Mella” International Camp (CIJAM), located in Guayabal, Caimito municipality, Artemisa province, 40 Km away from the capital, and 4 nights in a tourist resort located in the province of Sancti Spíritus.
Accommodation will be in shared rooms (up to 8 in the CIJAM and double or triple in hotels), with full board (all three meals); airport transfers (in–out) and transportation to all the activities included in the program.
Additional nights will have an extra cost of 15.00 CUC per pax and will be paid directly into the CIJAM as well as payment for the optional activities.
Less than 10 days stay in the Brigade will not be accepted. It is an essential condition to travel health insurance with coverage in Cuba.[For U.S. delegates flying from the U.S. Health Insurance is included with your airline ticket.]
Registrations will be open until March 15th, 2019 and full payment is due by March 22.
In previous editions participation has been increasingly rising, so we inform you that once covered the 220 capacities of accommodation at the CIJAM, new confirmations will have an alternative of accommodation in similar conditions at the same cost.
By confirming participation, “brigadistas” take responsibility of participating in all activities under the proposed program; as well as assuring compliance with CIJAM regulations, maintaining an appropriate behavior, high standards of discipline and a socially responsible conduct, consistent with norms for social interaction.
We will be happy to receive you in our country to continue building that other better world that it indeed possible! We look forward to have you here!”
Fraternally,
THE CUBAN INSTITUTE OF FRIENDSHIP OF THE PEOPLE
